When the 117-year-old Christensen Bros Ranch decided to leave the commodity beef business behind and sell directly to consumers, they knew they had to differentiate their business from the plethora of other grass-fed, grass-finished beef producers. That's when they contacted Milhoan Design to discuss their branding and web development needs.
When Sarah Christensen first approached Milhoan Design, she wasn’t planning on designing and implementing a complete branding and web development project, but that’s exactly what happened. Sarah had just taken over her husband’s 117-year-old family cow-calf operation, Christensen Bros. Livestock, in Philipsburg, Montana, and although she was fairly new to the cattle business, she knew that selling commodity beef on a small scale was not going to pay the bills. That’s when she contacted Milhoan Design to discuss a few ideas around designing a new logo for what would become Pintler Mountain Beef.
At this point, Pintler Mountain Beef was just a name with no logo, no branding, and no website. After what was supposed to be a 15-minute call turned into a two-hour conversation about the goals and objectives of Pintler Mountain Beef, it was decided that a complete package was the perfect solution to move from a price taker to a price maker.
In order to get Pintler Mountain Beef online by the time their grass-finished beef was ready to be packaged and marketed they needed a look and feel that would align with their values and compliment a professionally developed Shopify E-commerce website. Milhoan Design took to the task of sketching, refining, and finalizing a logo and brand package that would look great across all mediums of print, web, and merchandise, and we wireframed, prototyped, and developed a custom Shopify website that was built for beauty and optimized for easy navigation. Along with the logo and website, custom sets of design collateral were created that included icons, and stunning product imagery.
After an initial investment of $5,000 and a design period of just under two months, Pintler Mountain Beef realized a return on investment within two days of launching their website and a 350% ROI after only two weeks.
