A Montana Original

Matador Ranch and Cattle partnered with Milhoan Design, a Bozeman, Montana-based studio specializing in Webflow Development and Brand Development, to create a digital experience that matches the legacy and scale of one of the state’s most iconic ranching operations.

Located near Dillon, Montana, the Matador stretches across 380,000 acres—from the Beaverhead Valley to the Centennial Valley—supporting 12,000 head of cattle, diverse wildlife habitats, and regenerative land management practices. Formed from the historic Beaverhead and Selkirk Ranches, Matador Ranch and Cattle continues to uphold and evolve the high standards of Montana ranching.

Webflow Development

The new website was built using Webflow, allowing for a custom, scalable platform that performs exceptionally well—even in remote locations where internet speeds may be limited. Milhoan Design implemented a mobile-friendly, performance-optimized structure that showcases the ranch’s vast acreage, environmental initiatives, and advanced cattle programs.

Interactive elements and immersive imagery help visitors grasp the sheer scale of the operation, while smart architecture ensures the site is fast, secure, and easy to navigate. The final result is a digital presence that merges tradition with cutting-edge web technology.

Brand Development

As part of a full brand development engagement, Milhoan Design created a refined identity that honors the ranch’s legacy while positioning it for the future. The new logo combines the Square and Compass brand (Montana’s oldest recorded cattle brand) from the Beaverhead Ranch and the Lazy 8 brand from the Selkirk Ranch. Inspired by the region’s earthy tones and rugged beauty, the identity system reflects craftsmanship, sustainability, and pride in place.

Typography and Design System

The primary typeface, Brother 1816, was chosen for its bold yet smooth character—striking a balance between sophistication and approachability. It supports a cohesive design language across digital and print applications, ensuring a consistent brand voice.

A detailed style guide was also created to govern typography, color usage, photography, and layout, making future design efforts seamless and on-brand.

Brand Implementation

The new Matador Ranch and Cattle brand is now applied across ranch vehicles, signage, print collateral, and sponsorship materials. This consistent application reinforces the ranch’s values and elevates its presence in the agricultural and conservation communities.
